Week 1

During week one, our group was formed after everyone was introduced to the design project for this quarter. We started to come up with ideas about the shape of the boat and potentially useful materials to mix into the cement. At the end of the recitation, we went down to the basement of the main building to look at concrete canoes, and develop ideas for how a mold would fit around the cement boat.
During the week one lab, our group mixed together formula G cement. Formula G is 20% off spec fly ash with OPC. It is curing at 40 degrees Celsius, which is also 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
